Who we are
Portia S Mazibuko Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics (Pty) Ltd, is a start-up company that was launched on the 25th of August 2022, by Sanele Portia Mazibuko who is from a small township in Durban, KZN, Lamontville. Sanele completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree in Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics in 2021 at the Durban University of Technology. She also gained experience at Wentworth Hospital and joined a private practice for one year thereafter. She has since become an independent practitioner as a medical Orthotist/Prosthetist in the private sector.
She is a director of Portia S Mazibuko Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics which is currently operating full-time in Pietermaritzburg. The company is registered and has been operating from 2022 informally and formally. We are compliant with HPCSA, CIPC, and BHF under Practice Number: 1045822.

“Find a job that you love, and you will never work a day in your life”. I have always known that my passion was in the medical profession, when I grew older I realised I also had a very creative side to me, especially in hand work. When I learned of Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics, I just knew that I have found my calling. A combination of the medical field and creativity.
A dream was born, and in 2021, a graduate with a BHSC in Medical Orthotics and Prosthetic, a dream became reality. Imagine waking up every morning knowing you’re a part of a company with the vision of delivering high-quality healthcare that is accessible to all ages in all demographics. That is my reality, and it makes me want to jump out of bed! Portia S Mazibuko Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics was founded in 2022, and has since grown in to 3 cities, registered with 2 major private hospitals and countless healthcare provider. Our strategy stands firm and look forward with confidence to the years ahead. Take a deep breath and join me on this continued journey.
